SUMMARY:Significant Vent Flow Changes Proven with Log Technology
DESCRIPTION:Go directly to the 3rd floor rather than to ARC reception on th
 e 12th floor.\n\nPresenter: Garry Randal - TAQA North \n\nSummary \nOn a
previously suspended well\, a vent flow had been noted and usually tested
at approximately 65 m3/day for a number of years. A recent compliance in
spection brought to light the significant rate change to over 300 m3/day\,
so the flow became serious and required immediate intervention. \n\nThe
well had a very minimal suite of open hole logs so it was decided to run a
full suite prior to putting a rig on the well to accurately determine the
source\, or sources\, and reduce the number of interventions to one. The
logging suite consisted of the HPT/SNL\, a conventional LMI noise tool (a
ctually 2) and the Roke Quad Neutron log to gain insight into the uphole h
ydrocarbon bearing zones. A full wellbore radial cement bond log was also
ran prior to the final LMI noise tool run. \n\nThe talk will highlight i
nteresting learnings from the logs and subsequent remediation.
