This presentation provides an overview of the learnings from testing and analyzing wells with surface casing vent flows and gas migration issues. There will be a discussion on the following:
– Why the AER focused on abandoned well leakage and the initial findings from locating and testing abandoned wells,
– The characteristics that increase the likelihood of leakage from wells,
– The history of vent flow / gas migration in the Alberta, and
– The summary of learnings from all of this information.
