Michael Beck is a serial entrepreneur, angel investor, and technology enthusiast who has made significant strides in the O&G industry since graduating from the University of Alberta in 1994. In 1999, he founded a service company that laid the groundwork for his venture into quantifying methane emissions, offering a solid basis for reduction strategies. VENTMEDiC® measures methane mass flowrate using an ISO 17025 calibrated differential pressure sensor across dual flow elements (volumetric flow). This, combined with an absorption methane concentration sensor, plus onboard ambient temperature and barometric pressure sensors allows an onboard microprocessor to compute mass flow in real time via the ideal gas law.
